Temperatures to drop to -8°C in Azerbaijan's mountains

Weather conditions in Baku and the Absheron Peninsula are expected to be changeably cloudy and occasionally overcast on February 27.

The Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the forecast was released by the National Hydrometeorological Service. According to synopticians, light drizzle is expected in some areas during the morning, with rain forecast for the evening. The precipitation is likely to intensify toward the night, accompanied by a north-east wind that will strengthen occasionally in certain locations during the day.

Rain and strong winds expected in Baku

In the capital, the air temperature will range from 3-5°C at night and 6-8°C during the day. Atmospheric pressure will stand at 763 mm Hg, with relative humidity levels reaching 75-85%.

Regional forecast: Snow and frost

In the regions of Azerbaijan, weather conditions are expected to be occasionally rainy, with snow forecast for several areas. Precipitation is likely to become intensive in specific locations. Fog is expected in some regions during the night and morning hours, while an east wind will strengthen occasionally.

Temperature indicators will be as follows: In the lowlands, 3-6°C at night and 6-10°C during the day; in the mountainous areas, 3-8°C of frost at night and 0-3°C of frost during the day.

The National Hydrometeorological Service of Azerbaijan regularly monitors atmospheric conditions to provide timely updates for the public and relevant government agencies. Such fluctuations in late February are characteristic of the transitional period in the region's climate, often resulting in increased humidity and variable pressure levels across the South Caucasus.
