Employees of the Gobustan District Police Department have conducted a successful operation targeting the illegal drug trade and illicit weapon possession in the region.
According to information provided to the Operative Information Center-OMM by the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), the operation resulted in the detention of 55-year-old Asad Musazade, a previously convicted individual.
During the search, law enforcement officers discovered a quantity of heroin in his possession. Furthermore, authorities seized an illegally obtained Makarov pistol along with ammunition. A criminal case has been initiated regarding the incident, and a court has ordered a pre-trial detention measure for Musazade as the investigation continues.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs frequently conducts such operations across Azerbaijan to combat organized crime, drug trafficking, and the proliferation of illegal firearms. These efforts are part of a broader national strategy to ensure public safety and maintain order, adhering to strict legal standards regarding the possession of prohibited items and controlled substances.
