The 20th session of the Parliamentary Union of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) member states is currently underway in Baku.

According to the "Operative Information Center-OMM", the opening ceremony features addresses from speakers and deputy speakers of OIC member parliaments, as well as representatives from various international organizations.

The session, which has brought together parliamentary delegations from over 40 nations, including speakers from more than 10 countries and representatives from 10 international organizations, is focused on the theme "Promoting sustainable and inclusive economic development in OIC member states through parliamentary cooperation." More than 400 delegates are expected to participate in the event.

The event serves as a critical platform for inter-parliamentary dialogue. Within the framework of the session, meetings of the General Committee, the Executive Committee, the Association of Secretaries General, and various specialized committees—covering political affairs, international relations, economic and environmental issues, legal and cultural matters, inter-civilizational and inter-religious dialogue, as well as human rights, women, and family issues—will be held to deliberate on the agenda and review key documents.

The OIC Parliamentary Union plays a significant role in fostering solidarity and cooperation among Muslim-majority nations. By facilitating legislative coordination, the organization aims to address common challenges, promote peace, and enhance economic integration across its member states. The session in Baku is scheduled to conclude on June 25.
