Strong winds are expected to sweep across Baku, the Absheron Peninsula, and several regions of Azerbaijan on June 2, according to the latest weather forecast.

The Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the National Hydrometeorological Service has issued both yellow and orange weather warnings in response to the anticipated meteorological conditions.

According to the official statement, an orange alert has been declared for Baku and the Absheron Peninsula, as well as the districts of Naftalan, Goranboy, Dashkasan, Neftchala, Mingachevir, Barda, Yevlakh, Tartar, Guba, and Gusar. In these areas, north-westerly winds are expected to intensify, reaching speeds of 20.8 to 28.4 meters per second.

For other regions of the country, a yellow alert is in effect, with north-westerly winds projected to reach speeds between 13.9 and 20.7 meters per second.

These weather warnings are part of the standard safety protocols implemented by the National Hydrometeorological Service to inform the public and relevant authorities about potential hazards. Such alerts are crucial for public safety, particularly in urban areas like Baku, where high-velocity winds can impact infrastructure, transportation, and daily activities. Citizens are advised to take necessary precautions during these periods of unstable weather.
