Yellow and orange weather warnings have been issued for several regions of Azerbaijan due to expected strong winds on May 27.

According to the National Hydrometeorological Service, reporting to the Operative Information Center-OMM, an orange warning has been issued for Mingachevir, Sheki, Zagatala, Qakh, Balakan, Barda, Goychay, Oghuz, Gabala, Ismayilli, Tartar, Yevlakh, Naftalan, Goranboy, and Dashkasan. In these areas, northwest winds are expected to reach speeds of 20.8 to 28.4 meters per second. Meanwhile, a yellow warning has been issued for other regions of Azerbaijan, where northwest winds will blow at speeds of 13.9 to 20.7 meters per second.

The National Hydrometeorological Service of Azerbaijan regularly issues color-coded weather warnings to inform the public and relevant government agencies about potential risks. Orange warnings indicate weather conditions that could pose a significant hazard, potentially causing damage to infrastructure, disruptions in transport, and uprooting trees, while yellow warnings signify moderately dangerous weather. Residents in the affected regions are advised to exercise caution, secure loose outdoor items, and avoid standing near tall trees or temporary structures during high winds.
