Traffic congestion reported on major Baku roads

Heavy traffic congestion has been reported on several major roads and avenues in Baku today.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the Intelligent Transport Management Center (NIIM) has released official data regarding the current transport density in the capital. The congestion is affecting key arterial routes, impacting the morning commute for thousands of residents in Azerbaijan.

Based on the official report, traffic density is currently observed on the following streets and avenues:

  1. Baku-Sumgait highway, in the direction of the "20 Yanvar" metro station;
  2. Ziya Bunyadov Avenue, from the Baku Olympic Stadium to the intersection with Ahmad Rajabli Street;
  3. Binagadi highway, in the direction of the "Azadlig Prospekti" metro station;
  4. Abdulvahab Salamzade Street, in the direction of Ziya Bunyadov Avenue;
  5. Tbilisi Avenue, from the "20 Yanvar" metro station toward the city center;
  6. Heydar Aliyev Avenue, auxiliary road, toward the city center;
  7. Yusif Safarov Street, toward the city center;
  8. Mikayil Mushfiq Street, from the "Badamdar" circle toward School-Lyceum No. 20;
  9. Khatai Avenue, in the direction of Heydar Aliyev Avenue;
  10. Heydar Aliyev Avenue, main road, toward the city center;
  11. 28 May Street, from the intersection with Pushkin Street to the intersection with Rashid Behbudov Street;
  12. Afiyaddin Jalilov Street, in the direction of Yusif Safarov Street.

The Intelligent Transport Management Center (NIIM) was established to monitor and regulate the flow of traffic in Baku using advanced technological solutions. Such traffic reports are part of the government's efforts to improve urban mobility and provide real-time updates to drivers in Azerbaijan. Authorities advise motorists to take these delays into account and use alternative routes where possible to ensure timely arrival at their destinations.
