Heavy traffic congestion has been observed on several major roads and avenues in Baku on Monday morning, causing significant delays for commuters.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the Intellectual Transport Management Center (NIIM) has reported congestion at the following locations:
- Baku-Sumgait highway, towards the "20 January" metro station;
- Ziya Bunyadov Avenue, from the intersection with Muzaffar Narimanov Street towards the "20 January" metro station;
- Binagadi highway, towards the "Azadlig Avenue" metro station;
- Mikayil Mushfig Street, from the "Badamdar" circle towards school-lyceum No. 20;
- Yusif Safarov Street, towards the city center;
- Heydar Aliyev Avenue, main road, towards the city center;
- Heydar Aliyev Avenue, auxiliary road, towards the city center;
- 8 November Avenue, from the intersection with Suleyman Ahmadov Street towards the city center;
- Tbilisi Avenue, from the "20 January" metro station towards the city center;
- 28 May Street, from the intersection with Pushkin Street to the intersection with Rashid Behbudov Street;
- Dilara Aliyeva Street, from the intersection with Pushkin Street to the intersection with Rashid Behbudov Street.
Traffic congestion in Baku, particularly during morning rush hours, remains a primary focus for urban planners in Azerbaijan. The Intellectual Transport Management Center utilizes a network of surveillance cameras and automated systems to monitor traffic flow in real-time, aiming to provide timely updates to drivers and optimize the city's transport infrastructure. These measures are part of ongoing efforts to enhance urban mobility and manage the increasing volume of vehicles in the capital.
