Heavy traffic congestion has been observed on several key roads and avenues in Baku today.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the Intelligent Transport Management Center (ITMC) has released an update regarding the current traffic situation in the capital. Significant delays are currently reported at the following locations:
- Baku-Sumgait highway, in the direction of the "20 January" metro station;
- 1st Gol kenari road, heading towards Ziya Bunyadov Avenue;
- Gara Garayev Avenue, from "Gara Garayev" metro station towards "Koroglu" metro station;
- Sabunchu-Zabrat highway, in the direction of "Koroglu" metro station;
- Mikayil Aliyev Street, from the Oil Refinery towards "Koroglu" metro station;
- 8 November Avenue, from the intersection with Suleyman Ahmadov Street towards the city center;
- The "20 January" circle;
- Tbilisi Avenue, from "20 January" metro station towards the city center;
- Ziya Bunyadov Avenue, from the Baku Olympic Stadium towards "Gara Garayev" metro station.
The Intelligent Transport Management Center of Azerbaijan monitors traffic flow in Baku using a network of cameras and sensors to optimize signal timings and provide real-time updates to commuters. Such congestion is typical during peak hours in the capital, and drivers are advised to consider alternative routes where possible to avoid delays. The center continues to coordinate with relevant authorities to ensure the efficient movement of vehicles across the city's transport infrastructure.
