Sibiqa: İranın Azərbaycanı hədəf alması bir daha göstərir ki, Tehran rejimi qlobal təhdiddir

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha has strongly condemned the recent Iranian drone attacks targeting Azerbaijan, stating that such actions demonstrate the broader danger posed by the Tehran regime.

"We condemn Iran's targeting of Azerbaijan following its attacks against countries in the Middle East and Europe," Sybiha wrote on his official X account, according to Operative Information Center-OMM. The minister further emphasized that the escalation proves the Tehran regime is not merely a regional concern but a global threat that requires a unified international response.

Sybiha stressed the necessity of consolidating international efforts to neutralize the threats posed by the Iranian regime, restore security and stability in the Middle East and beyond, and provide a chance for a normal life for the Iranian people. The statement comes in response to drone strikes launched from the territory of the Islamic Republic of Iran against the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of the Republic of Azerbaijan. One drone struck the terminal building of the Nakhchivan airport, while another landed near a school building in the village of Shekarabad. The attack resulted in damage to the airport infrastructure and left four individuals injured.

The incident in Nakhchivan marks a significant escalation in regional tensions. Azerbaijan has consistently maintained a policy of regional stability and territorial integrity, particularly following the restoration of its sovereignty over Garabagh. This latest aggression against Nakhchivan—an Azerbaijani exclave bordering Turkey, Armenia, and Iran—highlights the ongoing security challenges in the South Caucasus. International observers note that such provocations against Azerbaijan's strategic infrastructure, including international airports, undermine diplomatic efforts to ensure long-term peace in the region.
