Pakistan stands firmly with the leadership and people of Azerbaijan, condemning actions that escalate tensions and undermine regional peace and stability.
According to Operative Information Center-OMM, Pakistan Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif shared these views on his official X social media account. The Prime Minister emphasized the deep-rooted fraternal ties between the two nations and expressed Islamabad's unwavering diplomatic stance.
"We express our serious concern regarding the recent attacks against the brotherly country of Azerbaijan. To maintain peace and stability in the region, we call for a reduction in tensions and reiterate the necessity of continuing dialogue and diplomacy," the post stated.
Pakistan has historically been one of Azerbaijan's closest allies, being among the first countries to recognize its independence in 1991. The two nations maintain a high level of strategic partnership, particularly in defense, trade, and energy sectors. Islamabad consistently supports Azerbaijan's territorial integrity and its efforts to restore and rebuild the liberated territories in Garabagh, reflecting a shared commitment to international law and regional security.
