Rusiya Ermənistandan məhsul idxalını məhdudlaşdırdı

Starting June 12, Russia has imposed restrictions on the import of all quarantine-regulated products from Armenia.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, this decision was announced by Russia's Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance, known as Rosselkhoznadzor.

The agency stated that it has restricted the import of all quarantine-regulated goods from Armenia into Russia, including tomatoes, grapes, dried fruits, and various other agricultural products. Furthermore, the transit of these goods through Russian territory to other member states of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) has also been suspended effective June 12.

"The decision was made due to the systematic detection of quarantine objects. Since May of this year, the service has gradually restricted the import of certain types of Armenian quarantine products and has repeatedly notified the Armenian side regarding these supply chain disruptions," Rosselkhoznadzor stated in its official report.

The agency further noted that the list of quarantine-regulated goods within the EAEU framework includes a wide range of items, such as grapes, onions, rice, corn, specific types of coffee, dried fruits, tomatoes, potatoes, and other agricultural commodities.

This move highlights ongoing regulatory challenges regarding phytosanitary standards within the EAEU trade bloc. The EAEU, which includes Armenia and Russia, maintains strict protocols to prevent the spread of agricultural pests and diseases across member borders, often leading to temporary trade barriers when compliance standards are not met.
