US President Donald Trump issued strong statements regarding relations with Iran and internal NATO dynamics during a joint press conference with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, President Trump addressed these critical geopolitical issues during the briefing.

The US leader noted that Washington has taken retaliatory measures following missile attacks by Iranian forces on several vessels. President Trump emphasized that the United States will take decisive steps to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons.

"The existing ceasefire regime with Iran has effectively ended, and the United States has no intention of continuing this agreement," Trump stated, accusing Iranian officials of dishonesty and asserting that Washington will firmly maintain its position on the matter.

Turning to NATO affairs, the US President specifically criticized Spain's position within the alliance, labeling it a "poor NATO ally" and expressing significant dissatisfaction with the country's policies. Trump suggested that Spain's actions toward other nations are inappropriate and hinted at potential adjustments in trade relations.

Additionally, President Trump commented on relations with Turkey. He described his rapport with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan as positive and expressed support for Turkey's decision to remain distanced from certain regional conflicts, despite the country maintaining a robust military.

Context: The relationship between the United States and Iran has remained a central focus of international diplomacy for decades, characterized by periods of heightened tension and intermittent negotiations. NATO, established in 1949, continues to serve as the primary collective defense alliance for its member states, with the US frequently advocating for increased defense spending and policy alignment among its European partners.
