President Ilham Aliyev has signed a decree approving the Action Plan for accelerating digital development in Azerbaijan for the period of 2026-2028.

According to Operative Information Center-OMM, the decree stipulates that the financing for the measures outlined in the Action Plan will be provided through the state budget and other sources permitted by law. The Digital Development Council has been tasked with coordinating the implementation of these measures and maintaining oversight of the process.

Under the terms of the decree, the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport is required to provide quarterly reports to the President of Azerbaijan regarding the progress of the plan's implementation. Furthermore, the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication will conduct the monitoring and evaluation of the scheduled activities based on the request of the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport.

This initiative is part of Azerbaijan's broader strategy to modernize its national economy and transition toward a high-tech, knowledge-based society. By prioritizing digital infrastructure and e-government services, the government aims to enhance transparency, improve public service delivery, and foster innovation across all sectors of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The 2026-2028 Action Plan serves as a critical roadmap for achieving the country's long-term sustainable development goals and strengthening its position as a regional technological hub.
