President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has held a one-on-one meeting with the President of the European Council, Antonio Costa, in Baku.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the meeting began with an official welcoming ceremony where the head of state and Antonio Costa posed for an official joint photograph. The leaders then proceeded to discuss the current state and future prospects of the partnership between Azerbaijan and the European Union.
The visit of the European Council President highlights the growing strategic importance of Azerbaijan as a reliable energy partner and a key player in regional connectivity. Relations between Baku and the European Union have intensified in recent years, particularly in the fields of energy security, trade, and the development of the Middle Corridor. This high-level dialogue serves as a platform to further align interests on regional stability and economic cooperation within the framework of the Eastern Partnership and bilateral agreements.
