Mexico's Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Maria Victoria Romero Caballero, has expressed her heartfelt congratulations to the Republic of Azerbaijan for the successful and high-level organization of the 13th Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) held in Baku. Speaking at the concluding press conference of the event, the diplomat extended her gratitude for the hospitality and the excellent conditions created for the international participants.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the Ambassador, whose country is set to host WUF14 in 2028, specifically highlighted the role of young volunteers in the forum's success. "On behalf of the Mexican government and Mexico City, I sincerely congratulate Azerbaijan. We once again witnessed the hospitality of the Azerbaijani people. The young volunteers, in particular, provided great support, guidance, and facilitated the exchange of ideas," Caballero stated. She also noted the high-level representation of Mexico at the event, which included the Minister of Urban Development, the Governor of Mexico City, and the Deputy Foreign Minister.
The World Urban Forum, established by the United Nations in 2001, serves as the premier global platform for discussing sustainable urbanization and the challenges of rapid urban growth. By hosting WUF13, Azerbaijan continues to strengthen its position as a major international hub for global diplomacy and large-scale summits. This event follows the successful hosting of other significant international gatherings in the capital, reflecting Azerbaijan's commitment to the UN Sustainable Development Goals and its capacity to manage complex logistical and thematic international forums.
