Mexico will officially begin the preparation phase for the 14th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF14) starting from the second half of today.
According to Operative Information Center-OMM, this was announced by Maria Victoria Romero Caballero, Mexico's Ambassador to Azerbaijan, during the closing press conference of WUF13. The Ambassador noted that Mexico, as the host of the next session, is committed to maintaining the high standards set during the current forum.
Ambassador Caballero emphasized that the Mexican delegation will take the experience gained in Baku back to their home country to ensure the successful organization of the upcoming event. She highlighted the importance of international cooperation in addressing urban challenges and fostering sustainable development across global cities.
The World Urban Forum, established by the United Nations in 2001, is the premier global conference on sustainable urbanization. It examines the most pressing issues facing the world today, including rapid urbanization and its impact on communities, cities, economies, climate change, and policies. By hosting WUF14, Mexico aims to continue the dialogue on the New Urban Agenda and strengthen global efforts toward inclusive and resilient urban environments.
