Law enforcement officers in the Bilasuvar district have successfully intercepted a smuggling attempt involving the use of a paraglider to transport illegal substances into Azerbaijan. A total of 47 kilograms of marijuana and opium, alongside 10,104 psychotropic pills, were seized during the operation.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, two individuals—62-year-old Jalal Gahramanov and 35-year-old Rashid Mammadaliyev—were apprehended after retrieving the narcotics from a pre-arranged location. Both suspects, who have prior criminal records, were taken into custody and transported to the local police department.
Preliminary investigations revealed that Gahramanov and Mammadaliyev intended to distribute the illicit substances within the capital, Baku. A criminal case has been initiated, and a court has ordered pretrial detention for both suspects. Investigations into the smuggling network are currently ongoing.
