Paşinyan: Azərbaycanla işgüzar əlaqələr sülhün açarı olacaq

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has stated that the establishment of business relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan will serve as a fundamental pillar for lasting peace in the region.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, Pashinyan expressed optimism during the presentation of the ruling Civil Contract Party's election program, noting that economic cooperation between the two nations is expected to materialize in the near future. The Prime Minister emphasized that these business ties could become one of the most vital instruments for institutionalizing peace between the two countries.

Pashinyan highlighted that the peace process gained significant momentum following the 2024 border demarcation in the Tavush region, which has since been supported by various agreements and legal documents. He noted that the activities of the joint commissions on border demarcation between Azerbaijan and Armenia now operate under a formal legal framework that has become an integral part of the legal systems of both states. To further solidify this stability, the Prime Minister identified the continuation of the demarcation process, the opening of regional transport communications, and the final signing of a peace treaty as the primary objectives.

The normalization process between Azerbaijan and Armenia follows the restoration of Azerbaijan's sovereignty over its territories and focuses on the mutual recognition of territorial integrity. Azerbaijan has consistently advocated for the opening of regional transport routes to integrate the South Caucasus into global trade networks. International observers view the potential restoration of trade and business ties as a crucial confidence-building measure that could transform the regional security landscape and foster long-term economic prosperity in Baku and Yerevan.
