Twenty participants have been named winners of the 6th season of the "Yukselish" (Ascent) competition, selected from a final pool of 129 candidates who demonstrated the highest results. The competition, launched under the initiative of President Ilham Aliyev, aims to identify and support intellectual, high-potential leaders for career advancement in Azerbaijan.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the age of the winners ranges from 24 to 38 years old. The demographic breakdown shows 15 men and 5 women among the victors. Analysis by age group indicates that the highest performance was recorded among those aged 21–30, with 11 winners falling into this category, while 9 winners are in the 31–40 age bracket.
The "Yukselish" competition is a significant national initiative designed to create a transparent mechanism for identifying and developing managerial talent. By providing mentorship and professional development opportunities, the program seeks to foster a new generation of leaders capable of contributing to the socio-economic development of Azerbaijan across both public and private sectors.
Geographically, the winners represent various economic regions of the country. Baku leads with 9 winners, followed by the Gazakh-Tovuz region with 3, and the Garabagh region with 2. Other winners represent the Mil-Mugan, Lankaran-Astara, Shirvan-Salyan, Eastern Zangezur, Absheron-Khizi, and Guba-Khachmaz economic regions.
The educational background of the winners is diverse, with graduates from leading institutions such as the Azerbaijan State University of Economics, the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, ADA University, the National Aviation Academy, and the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University. Internationally, winners hold degrees from institutions including the EU Business School Barcelona, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and Stockholm University.
Regarding professional sectors, 50% of the winners represent the public sector, 45.45% work in the private sector, and 4.55% are affiliated with non-governmental organizations.
