Significant traffic congestion has been reported on several major highways and arterial roads in Baku, causing delays for commuters across the capital. According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the Intelligent Transport Management Center (ITMC) has issued an alert regarding the current traffic situation.
As of the latest reports, heavy vehicle density is being observed in the following areas: Tbilisi Avenue, from the "20 January" metro station towards the city center; Ziya Bunyadov Avenue, from the intersection with Muzaffar Narimanov Street towards the "20 January" metro station; Yusif Safarov Street, in the direction of the city center; the 1st Gol Kenari road, towards Ziya Bunyadov Avenue; and Ali Mustafayev Street, also in the direction of Ziya Bunyadov Avenue. Drivers are strongly advised to use alternative routes where possible to avoid delays.
Traffic congestion in Baku often peaks during morning and evening rush hours due to the high volume of vehicles entering the city center from suburban areas. The Intelligent Transport Management Center continuously monitors these routes to regulate traffic flow and improve urban mobility in Azerbaijan's capital. Such measures are part of the broader infrastructure development strategy implemented in Azerbaijan to modernize the capital's transport network and reduce travel times for residents and visitors alike.
