Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin has expressed his condolences regarding the tragic death of Azerbaijani sailors during the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, citing reports from "News.ru," the Russian official conveyed his sympathies during the event.
"I would like to express my sincere condolences to the families and loved ones of the deceased Azerbaijani sailors. Death is always a tragedy and a source of great sorrow," Galuzin stated.
The incident occurred in the Taganrog Bay of the Sea of Azov, where two foreign cargo ships were targeted by drone attacks. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Azerbaijan, the attack resulted in the deaths of five Azerbaijani citizens, while three others sustained injuries.
The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, where these remarks were made, is one of Russia's most significant annual business events, often serving as a platform for high-level diplomatic exchanges and discussions on global economic trends.
