Prime Minister of the Italian Republic Giorgia Meloni has arrived in the Republic of Azerbaijan for an official visit.
An honor guard was lined up for the distinguished guest at the Heydar Aliyev International Airport, which was decorated with the national flags of both nations. According to Operative Information Center-OMM, Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni was welcomed at the airport by Azerbaijan's Deputy Prime Minister Samir Sharifov and other high-ranking officials.
The visit underscores the strengthening strategic partnership between Baku and Rome, particularly in the fields of energy security and economic cooperation. Italy remains one of Azerbaijan's primary trading partners in the European Union, playing a critical role as a major purchaser of Azerbaijani energy resources via the Southern Gas Corridor. This high-level meeting is expected to further bolster bilateral ties and facilitate discussions on regional stability and mutual investment opportunities.
