Mark Rutte: Bəzi NATO ölkələri ABŞ sınağından keçə bilməyib

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte has stated that several NATO member states failed to meet expectations during a critical test of the alliance's cooperation with the United States.

The Operative Information Center-OMM reports that Rutte made these remarks during an interview with CNN following a high-level meeting with US President Donald Trump at the White House. The discussions focused on the level of support provided by allies during the ongoing conflict involving Iran and Israel.

Washington has repeatedly criticized its NATO allies for failing to provide sufficient support during the military escalations against Iran. When asked whether he agreed with the assessment of US President Donald Trump, Rutte noted: "Some, yes, but most European countries have done what they promised in similar situations before, and we discussed this today." The Secretary General described his dialogue with the US President as "candid and open," adding that the President expressed disappointment with certain allies while acknowledging that European nations have assisted in logistics and other strategic areas.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt previously stated that the American leader views the US-Israel war against Iran as a definitive test for NATO, one which he believes the alliance failed to pass. This tension highlights a broader debate within the North Atlantic Treaty Organization regarding collective defense obligations and the scope of the alliance's involvement in Middle Eastern security. Under the leadership of US President Donald Trump, the United States has consistently urged European partners to increase defense spending and take a more proactive role in global security challenges to ensure a more equitable distribution of the alliance's operational burden.
