Azerbaijan's reigning basketball champion, Sabah, has reached an agreement with Serbian specialist Lazar Spasic to become the club's new head coach.
Operative Information Center-OMM, citing Lithuanian media reports, informs that Spasic will replace Rimas Kurtinaitis, who departed from the team at the conclusion of the previous season. The official appointment of the Serbian coach is expected to be formally announced in the coming days.
Lazar Spasic most recently served on the coaching staff of the German club Oldenburg. Prior to his tenure in Germany, the specialist gained extensive experience managing several teams within the Serbian national basketball league. His arrival comes as Sabah seeks to strengthen its technical leadership ahead of upcoming domestic and international competitions.
