China has expressed a strong protest against the United States regarding the recent unjustified detention and interrogation of Chinese company employees entering the country.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that these remarks were made by Lin Jian, the spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
According to the diplomat, U.S. law enforcement agencies have recently conducted repeated, lengthy, and groundless interrogations, arrests, and deportations of employees from Chinese firms. Lin Jian emphasized that the methods employed by U.S. authorities are "cruel" and violate the legal rights and interests of Chinese citizens, while also damaging the atmosphere for normal business exchange and cooperation between the two countries.
"China expresses its strong dissatisfaction and resolute opposition to this matter," the spokesperson noted. He further urged the United States to stop the groundless interrogation of Chinese company personnel, stressing that Beijing will continue to take decisive and effective measures to protect the legitimate rights and interests of its citizens.
This diplomatic tension occurs within the broader context of complex relations between the two global powers. Under the administration of US President Donald Trump, issues surrounding trade security and the movement of corporate personnel have remained high on the bilateral agenda. Beijing has frequently called for a more stable environment for international commerce, asserting that political factors should not interfere with legitimate business activities and the rights of international travelers.
