The Israeli armed forces launched more than 20 air strikes across Lebanese territory during the overnight hours, targeting various strategic and residential locations.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the Al Mayadeen television channel released information regarding the intensification of the aerial campaign. According to reports, the attacks were primarily concentrated on the Dahiya district of Beirut and the Al-Qasamiya bridge over the Litani River.
Citing Lebanon's civil defense services, Al-Jazeera reported that yesterday's large-scale Israeli strikes resulted in the deaths of more than 250 people, with 1,165 others sustaining various degrees of injuries. This follows an earlier statement from the Lebanese Ministry of Health, which had initially placed the toll at 112 dead and 837 wounded. On April 8, Israeli aviation also targeted central districts and southern suburbs of Beirut. In response, the Hezbollah movement has vowed to retaliate for the strikes that led to significant civilian casualties.
The escalation comes amid a period of heightened regional instability and frequent cross-border exchanges. International observers note that the targeting of infrastructure, such as bridges and densely populated urban centers, marks a significant phase in the ongoing conflict. The humanitarian situation in Lebanon continues to deteriorate as rescue teams work to clear debris and provide medical assistance to the growing number of displaced and injured citizens.
