Israel forward Saied Abu Farchi was sent off for making a gun gesture with the corner flag during his team’s 3-1 defeat by Austria in the Nations League on Thursday, according to the original report.
Abu Farchi, 20, headed Israel’s equaliser in the 55th minute at the Raiffeisen Arena in Linz, after Austria had taken the lead through Romano Schmid’s first-half penalty.
The forward ran towards the corner after scoring, picked up the flag and mimicked firing a gun while celebrating.
The referee had booked Abu Farchi four minutes earlier and then showed him a second yellow card for the celebration, leaving Israel with 10 players.
