The Naval Forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) have announced that 35 vessels successfully transited the Strait of Hormuz over the past 24 hours.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the information was released by the public relations office of the IRGC Naval Forces. According to the statement, oil tankers, container ships, and other commercial vessels passed safely through the strait after obtaining necessary permits and coordinating with IRGC naval units.
The official report emphasized that the passage of these vessels was carried out under the security supervision of the IRGC. The statement further asserted that despite perceived threats stemming from United States military operations in the Strait of Hormuz, the IRGC Naval Forces have established a "secure waterway" to ensure the continuity of international shipping and global trade.
The Strait of Hormuz remains one of the world's most critical maritime chokepoints, serving as the primary transit route for approximately one-fifth of the world's total oil consumption. Located between Oman and Iran, the strait connects the Persian Gulf with the Gulf of Oman and the Arabian Sea. Due to its strategic importance, the region frequently sees heightened naval activity and remains a focal point for international energy security and geopolitical stability.
