IRGC warns Washington over Strait of Hormuz tensions

"As long as U.S. threats and interference in regional maritime transport continue, the Strait of Hormuz will not be reopened," the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated in a recent declaration.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the IRGC issued a formal written statement emphasizing that the Strait of Hormuz remains under Iranian control.

The statement explicitly warned that if the United States persists with its policy of regional threats and interference with maritime traffic, the strategic waterway will remain closed, potentially escalating regional tensions significantly. Furthermore, the IRGC issued a stern warning to nations supporting U.S. policies in the region, stating that they would face a "harsh response" should they fail to alter their current stance.

The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world's most critical maritime chokepoints, serving as a vital artery for global energy supplies. Approximately one-fifth of the world's oil consumption passes through this narrow passage, making any disruption in the area a matter of significant concern for international energy markets and global geopolitical stability.
