Iran has prepared alternative routes and countermeasures to mitigate the impact of a potential naval blockade by the United States, the Iranian government announced on Tuesday.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, Iranian government spokesperson Fatemeh Mohajerani stated that Tehran has already established alternative maritime paths, asserting that there are no obstacles in securing the country's trade routes. She noted that one of the primary challenges in ongoing diplomatic discussions is the contradictory messages received from the opposing side, adding that Iran maintains a strong position both diplomatically and militarily.
The statement comes amid ongoing geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, particularly concerning strategic waterways such as the Strait of Hormuz, a critical chokepoint for global energy transit. The United States, under President Donald Trump, has consistently emphasized maritime security and the enforcement of sanctions in the region, prompting Tehran to seek alternative trade corridors and strengthen its regional defense posture.
