Iran has officially characterized recent actions by the United States as "war crimes," citing a blockade of its ports and an attack on a commercial vessel.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that Gholam-Hossein Mohseni-Eje'i, the head of Iran's judiciary, issued the statement regarding the situation in the Sea of Oman. He asserted that the US blockade of Iranian ports and coastlines, alongside the strike on an Iranian merchant ship, represents a violation of international law and a breach of ceasefire conditions.

Mohseni-Eje'i emphasized that Iran would take necessary measures in response to these actions. He further noted that there is a high probability of continued provocations from the United States and Israel, stressing the importance of national preparedness against such risks.

The Sea of Oman is a strategically vital waterway for international trade, particularly for the transport of oil and gas from the Persian Gulf. Tensions in these waters have frequently drawn international concern due to their impact on global energy markets. US President Donald Trump has consistently prioritized maritime security and regional stability in his administration's foreign policy. Azerbaijan, maintaining its position on the importance of international law and territorial integrity, continues to support peaceful resolutions to regional conflicts to ensure the security of global trade routes.
