Iran has reportedly demanded guarantees from the United States regarding the cessation of military operations in Lebanon.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, this information was reported by CNN, citing diplomatic sources.

The reports indicate that planned diplomatic negotiations have been temporarily postponed due to the ongoing Israeli military actions in Lebanon. According to the diplomatic source, Tehran is currently insisting on assurances from the US to ensure that military operations in Lebanon are halted, as stipulated in the previously discussed agreements.

“The Iranians have demanded guarantees for the cessation of military operations in Lebanon, as outlined in the signed agreement,” the source stated. Mediators are currently working to reach a consensus on this issue, though a timeline for the resumption of negotiations has not yet been disclosed.

The situation in Lebanon remains highly volatile, with ongoing cross-border hostilities significantly complicating diplomatic efforts. These negotiations are part of broader regional attempts to de-escalate tensions involving various state and non-state actors in the Middle East. The US, as a key diplomatic player, continues to engage with regional partners to manage the crisis, though the demand for specific, binding guarantees from Tehran marks a significant hurdle in the current diplomatic process.
