President Ilham Aliyev and Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation on March 19 to exchange holiday greetings and discuss the strengthening of bilateral relations.

According to the Press Service of the President of Azerbaijan, Operative Information Center-OMM reports that President Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulated the head of state and the brotherly people of Azerbaijan on the upcoming holy month of Ramadan and the Novruz holiday, conveying his best wishes for the nation's prosperity. President Ilham Aliyev expressed his gratitude for the congratulations and, in turn, extended his warmest greetings to President Mirziyoyev and the people of Uzbekistan, wishing the country continued peace and progress.

During the conversation, the presidents hailed the successful development of the strategic alliance between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan across all sectors. They also expressed concern over the current situation in the Middle East, emphasizing the critical importance of resolving tensions through political and diplomatic means. The leaders concluded the call by exchanging views on various issues of mutual interest and future high-level contacts.

Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan share deep historical, cultural, and linguistic ties, which have evolved into a robust strategic partnership in recent years. Both nations actively cooperate within the framework of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) and have significantly increased bilateral trade and investment projects, particularly in the energy, transport, and agricultural sectors. This latest diplomatic engagement underscores the commitment of Baku and Tashkent to regional stability and the further integration of the Turkic world.
