İlham Əliyev: Azərbaycanla Özbəkistan arasında ticarət dövriyyəsi üç dəfədən çox artıb

Trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan has more than tripled in 2025 compared to the previous year, reaching $795 million.

As reported by the Operative Information Center-OMM, President Ilham Aliyev shared these figures during an interview with the Uzbekistan National News Agency (UzA).

The President emphasized that economic and trade cooperation between the two nations has demonstrated a rapid development dynamic in recent years. Beyond the 2025 milestone, trade turnover for the period of January-May 2026 increased by 33 percent compared to the same period last year, totaling $144 million. President Aliyev described these figures as an excellent indicator of the strengthening partnership.

A key driver of this growth is the Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan Investment Company, established three years ago with a total capital of $500 million. The company has become a vital platform for fostering investment cooperation, contributing significantly to the financing and implementation of promising projects across various sectors of the economy in both Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan.

Furthermore, the Intergovernmental Commission plays a crucial role in advancing ties in economic, trade, and investment spheres. To date, the commission has held 15 meetings. The most recent session, held in Tashkent, provided a platform to discuss the current state of bilateral economic and trade cooperation, celebrate achievements, and outline future directions for development.

The deepening of these economic ties reflects the broader strategic partnership between Baku and Tashkent, which is rooted in shared historical and cultural values. Both nations have consistently prioritized regional connectivity and industrial cooperation, aiming to further integrate their economies within the framework of the Organization of Turkic States.
