Precipitation continues across Azerbaijan, with snow and sleet reported in various regions, according to the National Hydrometeorological Service. The Operative Information Center-OMM was informed that the weather conditions remain unstable, with intense precipitation recorded in specific areas.

As of 11:00 AM on January 19, the highest snow cover was recorded in Alibay (Zaqatala) and Lerik at 39 cm, followed by Shahbuz at 35 cm, Kalbajar at 32 cm, and Saribash (Gakh) at 30 cm. Significant snow accumulation was also noted in Lachin and Qubadli (23 cm), Yardimli (20 cm), Kishchay (19 cm), Khizi (18 cm), Khaltan (16 cm), Griz (15 cm), Shusha (13 cm), Shamakhi, Gobustan, and Laza (12 cm), Khinalig (10 cm), Khankendi (9 cm), Shahdag (7 cm), Quba (6 cm), Ismayilli and Khojaly (5 cm), and Fuzuli (3 cm). In Baku and the Absheron Peninsula, precipitation reached 8 mm.

The National Hydrometeorological Service further noted that west winds have intensified in several regions, reaching maximum speeds of 20 m/s in Neftchala and 19 m/s in Goranboy. Foggy conditions were reported in Ganja, Zaqatala, Gakh, Shamakhi, and several other districts, reducing visibility to 500 meters. Minimum temperatures dropped to 10 degrees Celsius below zero in the Nakhchivan AR and 12 degrees Celsius below zero in mountainous regions, while Baku recorded temperatures around 2 degrees Celsius.

The National Hydrometeorological Service, an agency under the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, regularly monitors and provides forecasts to ensure public safety and the efficient operation of infrastructure during severe weather events. Such winter conditions are typical for Azerbaijan's mountainous terrain, though the intensity of the current cold wave has prompted increased monitoring by the Operative Information Center-OMM and relevant state authorities to manage potential disruptions to transport and energy services.
