Construction work on the Asgaran–Khojaly–Khankendi highway project has reached 86% completion, according to the State Agency of Azerbaijan Automobile Roads (AAYDA).
This information was provided to the Operative Information Center-OMM by the AAYDA.
The 14.1-kilometer-long highway, which is being constructed as part of the broader infrastructure development efforts in the liberated territories, is being built to the standards of a first-class technical road. Depending on the terrain, the width of the roadbed reaches up to 26.5 meters.
Earthworks for the project have been fully completed, and the new roadbed has been established. Currently, crews are focused on constructing the road base and laying the asphalt-concrete pavement layers.
Simultaneously, the construction of three bridges, nine rectangular and 38 circular culverts, and 23 emergency crossings along the route has been finalized. Additionally, the installation of 14 bus stops has also been completed.
The completion of the Asgaran–Khojaly–Khankendi highway is expected to significantly improve transport connectivity in the region. By enhancing the efficiency of freight and passenger transportation, the road will serve as a vital link for the socio-economic reintegration of the area, providing a substantial boost to local agricultural development and tourism potential in the Garabagh economic region.
