Prosecutor seeks 15-year prison sentence for Alasgar Mammadli

The judicial investigation into the so-called "Toplum TV" case has concluded.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the prosecutor delivered the closing statement during today's session at the Baku Court of Grave Crimes.

The prosecutor stated that the charges brought against the defendants are substantiated and requested that each individual be sentenced within the maximum limits prescribed by law. Specifically, the prosecution has requested 16-year prison sentences for Akif Gurbanov and Ruslan Izzatli, 15 years for Alasgar Mammadli and Ali Zeynalov, 14 years for Mushfig Jabbarov, Ilkin Amrahov, and Ramil Babayev, and 13 years for Farid Ismayilov and Elmir Abbasov.

The court has granted the defense attorneys time to prepare their closing arguments.

The "Toplum TV" case, which has drawn significant attention, involves allegations of illegal activities linked to the media outlet. The Baku Court of Grave Crimes is responsible for adjudicating serious criminal offenses in Azerbaijan, ensuring that judicial proceedings adhere to the country's legal framework and criminal code.
