The panel titled “Turkic world dialogues: A common future, a common vision” will be held in Baku on Sept. 15.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that Turkey’s Directorate of Communications announced this.
According to the announcement, the panel series is being organized in member and observer countries of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) ahead of the organization’s 13th Summit of Heads of State, scheduled to take place in Ankara on Oct. 29-30. Following Astana, Baku will be the second host of the series. Burhanettin Duran, head of the Communications Directorate of the President of Türkiye and a professor, will participate in the event via a video address. The panel will be moderated by Professor Mehmet Yüce, communications adviser in Tashkent.
The speakers will include Professor Seyit Sertçelik, chief adviser to the President of Türkiye; Azerbaijani Milli Majlis (National Assembly) member Dr. Fariz Ismayilzade; Professor Esma Özdaşlı, adviser to the chairman of Türkiye’s Nationalist Movement Party; Dr. Farid Shafiyev, chairman of the Center of Analysis of International Relations; and Associate Professor Nazim Jafarov, deputy chairman of the Caucasus International Relations and Strategic Studies Center.
The announcement said the panel aims to raise the OTS’s visibility at the regional and global levels, communicate the Turkic world’s common vision to a wider audience, and strengthen academic, cultural, economic and public ties among the countries. Discussions will focus on steps to advance cooperation in education, the economy, transport, energy, science and technology, the defense industry, media and culture, as well as expectations for the OTS’s 13th Summit of Heads of State in Ankara in October.
The Organization of Turkic States brings together Turkic countries to promote cooperation across political, economic, cultural, transport and other areas. Its summits provide a platform for leaders to set priorities and assess joint initiatives.
