Azerbaijan reports rainy and foggy weather conditions

The National Hydrometeorological Service has released the latest weather data as of 09:00 on March 26, reporting unstable and rainy conditions across several regions of Azerbaijan.

According to official data, precipitation levels varied significantly across the country. The highest rainfall was recorded in Aghdam at 7 mm, followed by 6 mm in Shabran, Barda, as well as in Baku and the Absheron Peninsula. Other regions including Khizi, Sadarak, and Sharur recorded 5 mm, while Beylagan, Khachmaz, Goranboy, and Zardab saw 4 mm of rain. A precipitation level of 3 mm was documented in numerous areas, including Guba, Tartar, Julfa, Ordubad, Nakhchivan, Naftalan, Tovuz, Sheki, Oguz, Shamakhi, Yevlax, Agstafa, Shahbuz, Dashkasan, Goygol, Ganja, Shamkir, Zagatala, Gabala, Gobustan, Shahdag, Balakan, Gakh, Gusar, Shirvan, Mingachevir, Goychay, Imishli, Kurdamir, Sabirabad, Bilasuvar, Yardimli, Lerik, Kalbajar, Lachin, Qubadli, Shusha, Khankendi, Khojaly, and Fuzuli.

In addition to the rainfall, foggy conditions have significantly impacted visibility in various parts of the Republic. In Baku and the Absheron Peninsula, as well as in Dashkasan, Goygol, Ganja, Naftalan, Shamkir, Balakan, Saribash (Gakh), Sheki, Oguz, Gabala, Gobustan, Shamakhi, Guba, Gusar, Tartar, Goychay, Sabirabad, and Lerik, visibility has been restricted to 500 meters due to dense fog.

The National Hydrometeorological Service of Azerbaijan regularly monitors and provides updates on atmospheric conditions to ensure public safety and inform relevant state agencies. Such weather patterns are characteristic of the spring transition period in the region, where maritime and continental air masses frequently interact over the Caucasus, leading to rapid changes in precipitation and visibility levels.
