A train transporting fertilizer and anthracite from Russia to Armenia via transit through Azerbaijan has departed from the Bilajari station of Azerbaijan Railways CJSC.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, a shipment consisting of 12 wagons carrying 828 tons of fertilizer and 6 wagons carrying 414 tons of anthracite (a type of coal) was dispatched from the Bilajari station at 11:30 AM, heading toward the Boyuk Kasik border crossing.
This transit route serves as a logistical corridor for goods moving between Russia and Armenia. To date, significant volumes of cargo have been transported through Azerbaijan, including over 29,000 tons of grain, more than 6,000 tons of fertilizer, 133 tons of aluminum, and 68 tons of buckwheat. In addition to these commodities, petroleum products have also been exported, with over 12,000 tons of diesel, 979 tons of AI-92 gasoline, and 2,955 tons of AI-95 gasoline transported through the country.
The transit of goods through Azerbaijan is governed by international transport agreements and regional logistics protocols. Azerbaijan, situated at the crossroads of the East-West and North-South transport corridors, plays a pivotal role in facilitating regional trade and connectivity, ensuring the efficient movement of goods across its railway infrastructure.
