Large-scale restoration and construction projects in the Garabagh and East Zangezur economic regions are accelerating the integration of liberated territories into the national economy of Azerbaijan.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that these remarks were made to journalists by Anar Guliyev, Chairman of the State Committee for City Planning and Architecture and national coordinator of WUF13.
Anar Guliyev noted that these economic regions possess significant industrial and agricultural potential. He emphasized that the progressive construction work and economic reforms currently being implemented will have a positive impact on the sustainable development of the country's economy and the efficient formation of inter-regional balance in the long term. According to the committee chairman, a primary priority is the direction of investments into innovative sectors.
"Today, the application of nano and biotechnology in the agricultural and industrial sectors can increase profitability by 35-40 percent. I believe that in the near future, we will witness the implementation of these technologies in the agricultural and industrial sectors of the Garabagh and East Zangezur economic regions," Guliyev stated. He added that such innovative approaches will create conditions for increasing profitability and stimulating proactive economic growth in the region.
The restoration of the liberated territories remains a top priority for the government of Azerbaijan under the "Great Return" program. Since the liberation of these lands, Azerbaijan has focused on implementing "smart city" and "smart village" concepts, integrating green energy zones, and building modern infrastructure to attract foreign direct investment. The strategic development of Garabagh and East Zangezur is designed to transform the region into a high-tech hub, contributing significantly to the non-oil GDP of Azerbaijan.
