Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has accused the United States Department of Defense (Pentagon) of concealing the true extent of its military expenditures, claiming the figures are significantly higher than officially reported.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, Araghchi stated on his X social media account that U.S. war costs have reached approximately $100 billion, a figure he asserts is four times higher than the disclosed data. The minister alleged that the "Pentagon is lying" regarding these expenditures. He further claimed that American taxpayers are bearing a substantial financial burden, with each family reportedly facing an additional monthly cost of nearly $500 due to these military commitments.
These allegations come amid heightened regional tensions and ongoing debates regarding international military aid and defense spending. Historically, Iran and the United States have frequently exchanged accusations over regional security and military transparency.
