Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has stated that he will not travel to Moscow for negotiations regarding the settlement of the ongoing conflict.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, citing reports from TASS, the Ukrainian leader explicitly ruled out a visit to the Russian capital. "I will not go to Moscow to meet with Putin. We could meet in Turkey, Switzerland, or the Middle East," Zelenskyy noted.

In response, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov reiterated the Russian position, stating that if Zelenskyy is prepared for responsible and serious dialogue, he is welcome to visit Moscow, where he would be received accordingly.

The diplomatic impasse underscores the significant challenges in establishing a direct dialogue between Kyiv and Moscow. Since the escalation of the conflict, international mediators, including Turkey and various European nations, have frequently offered their platforms to facilitate peace talks. However, disagreements over the venue and the pre-conditions for negotiations remain a primary obstacle to achieving a diplomatic breakthrough in the region.
