The 13th Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) has successfully concluded in Baku, marking a significant milestone in international urban development dialogue. Anar Guliyev, the National Coordinator for WUF13 and Chairman of the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture, announced the results during the official closing ceremony, highlighting the collaborative efforts that defined the event.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that Guliyev expressed his gratitude to the UN-Habitat team for their close cooperation and continuous support throughout the process. "I would like to express my special thanks to the UN-Habitat team for the close cooperation and continuous support provided during the successful organization of WUF13. Thanks to this strong partnership, WUF13 has become a platform reflecting our dialogue and shared commitment to a sustainable future," Guliyev stated. He also commended the Azerbaijan Operating Company for their dedication in ensuring the seamless execution of the large-scale session.

The World Urban Forum, established by the United Nations in 2001, is the premier global conference on sustainable urbanization. It serves as a non-legislative platform where stakeholders discuss the challenges of rapid urbanization and its impact on communities, cities, economies, and climate change. By hosting WUF13, Azerbaijan continues to strengthen its role as a regional hub for international summits, following its commitment to the New Urban Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
