Aralıq dənizində iki zəlzələ baş verdi

Two earthquakes measuring 4.7 and 5.3 in magnitude have occurred in the Mediterranean Sea.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the tremors were reported by Türkiye's Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD).

The earthquakes were recorded at depths of 9.32 km and 35.5 km, respectively. Authorities are currently monitoring the region for potential aftershocks, though no immediate reports of casualties or significant structural damage have been issued.

The Mediterranean region is geologically active, situated at the convergence of several tectonic plates, including the African and Eurasian plates. This complex tectonic setting frequently results in seismic activity, making the monitoring of underwater tremors essential for coastal safety and tsunami risk assessment in both Türkiye and Greece.
