The second round of negotiations between Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Oman's Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr bin Hamad al-Busaidi has concluded in Muscat, the capital of Oman.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports, citing the Mehr News Agency, that the discussions focused on regional security and the ongoing nuclear dialogue. Following the session, US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff is currently holding consultations with the Omani Foreign Minister.

Earlier, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman issued a statement announcing the completion of the first phase of indirect talks between Tehran and Washington regarding the nuclear issue. According to reports, Foreign Minister al-Busaidi held separate meetings with the Iranian delegation led by Abbas Araghchi, as well as with US President Donald Trump's envoy Steve Witkoff and presidential advisor Jared Kushner. During these meetings, the parties discussed bilateral and regional issues, specifically focusing on the framework of Iran-US nuclear negotiations. Al-Busaidi emphasized the Sultanate's readiness to cooperate with various partners to achieve mutually acceptable political solutions.

The negotiations, which commenced on February 6 under Omani mediation, primarily address the Iranian nuclear program and the potential easing of sanctions against Iran. Oman has historically served as a critical diplomatic bridge between Tehran and Washington, often hosting back-channel communications to de-escalate regional tensions. These high-level meetings in Muscat represent a significant diplomatic effort involving senior officials from the administration of US President Donald Trump to address long-standing security concerns in the Middle East.
