Reports claiming that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has ordered the preparation of a three-year plan for the resolution of the conflict have been officially denied.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports, citing strana.ua, that Dmytro Lytvyn, advisor to the President of Ukraine, dismissed the allegations regarding a specific multi-year strategy for the ongoing war with Russia.
Lytvyn stated that President Zelenskyy has not issued any instructions concerning the development of a three-year conflict resolution plan. According to the advisor, the head of state has not discussed this matter with his team, nor has he expressed any negative sentiments regarding the potential for future negotiations.
The clarification follows a report by Boian Pancevski, a journalist for The Wall Street Journal, who claimed that Zelenskyy had ordered the drafting of such a plan due to a purported lack of confidence in the success of immediate diplomatic talks with Moscow.
Since the escalation of the conflict in February 2022, Ukraine has consistently maintained that any peace settlement must be based on its own "Peace Formula," which includes the full restoration of its territorial integrity. The international community, including Azerbaijan, has repeatedly voiced support for the principles of sovereignty and the inviolability of internationally recognized borders in accordance with UN Charter mandates. This latest denial highlights the ongoing sensitivity surrounding diplomatic timelines and the strategic communication of the Ukrainian leadership during the protracted war.
