According to preliminary information, the aircraft had departed from the Czech Republic. The search and rescue operation for the small plane, which had disappeared from radar, concluded around 22:00 local time. Specialists from the Croatian Mountain Rescue Service discovered the wreckage of the aircraft and the bodies of the two victims in a mountainous area within the Paklenitsa National Park, approximately 60 kilometers from Zadar.
Aviation accidents involving light aircraft often require complex investigations, as authorities must analyze flight paths, weather conditions, and mechanical logs to determine the cause of the crash. Paklenitsa National Park, known for its rugged terrain and steep cliffs, presents significant challenges for search and rescue operations, particularly during nighttime hours.
