Azerbaijani police have detained three individuals in the Jalilabad district for the illegal possession and trafficking of approximately 14 kilograms of narcotics. The suspects, identified as 26-year-old Emil Rashidov, 32-year-old Ramin Israfilov, and 27-year-old Taleh Isazade, all of whom have prior criminal records, were taken into custody during a targeted operation.

The Lankaran regional group of the Ministry of Internal Affairs press service informed Operative Information Center-OMM that the seizure included a significant quantity of marijuana and methamphetamine, as well as 100 methadone pills. Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects had conspired with a drug trafficker residing abroad to transport the illicit substances to Baku for distribution at various locations in exchange for financial gain.

This operation is part of Azerbaijan's ongoing comprehensive strategy to combat drug trafficking and the illegal circulation of psychotropic substances. The Ministry of Internal Affairs continues to intensify its efforts along southern transit routes to prevent the smuggling of narcotics into the country. A criminal case has been initiated, and the court has ordered the pretrial detention of all three suspects as the investigation continues.
