Theft Suspects Detained in Baku's Yasamal District

Two courier service employees arrested for stealing cosmetic products worth 1,800 AZN

A theft incident has been recorded in the Yasamal district of the capital, Baku. According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the victim filed a report with the police stating that ordered cosmetology products valued at 1,800 AZN had gone missing.

Following the report, the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) launched an immediate investigation. As a result of operational-search measures conducted by police officers, two individuals suspected of committing the crime, identified as A. Alizade and Z. Rustamzade, were detained. Investigations revealed that the victim had ordered 50 boxes of cosmetic supplies to be delivered via a courier company. However, the suspects, who were performing the delivery service, seized a portion of the parcels during transit.

During their interrogation, the suspects confessed to the theft, admitting that they had subsequently sold the stolen cosmetic products. The Ministry of Internal Affairs continues to prioritize the security of commercial deliveries and the protection of consumer rights in Azerbaijan. The investigation is currently ongoing to determine further details of the incident and to identify any potential additional accomplices involved in the scheme.

The Yasamal district is one of the most densely populated administrative areas of Baku, hosting numerous commercial hubs and residential complexes. In recent years, the Ministry of Internal Affairs has increased surveillance and patrol measures in such urban centers to ensure public safety and the integrity of the growing e-commerce and delivery sectors in the Republic of Azerbaijan.
